Forward looking…
Jen Cooper has a passion for diversity and inclusion grown out of her marriage and motherhood of a mixed-race family, international travels and Spanish studies, and time volunteering to mentor women. She currently started a diversity committee in the PTA and is on the Library’s Common Grounds planning team.
Founded on the NJ upbringing in a family-owned business, Jen is also an astute business leader, with 20+ years experience in the utility industry. Jen is committed to ensuring that Roxbury offers opportunities that meet the financial and lifestyle options for all. Jen wants Roxbury to be a safe, enriching and nurturing environment for her neighbors, friends, and family to live, grow and play.
Throughout my professional career in energy and as a parent of young, mixed-race boys, one of whom is special needs, I continue to recognize the importance of being a part of the changes that she wants to see in the world. We moved here from Brooklyn for the space and the potential we see in this community. But we can’t change things by doing the same things we’ve done before, with the same leadership we have had for over 20 years.

I want to bring representation of working mothers and diverse families into our local government. I have professional experience in both a local family owned business as well as multi-state corporations. I want to use my skills in contracting, financial planning, utilities management, and organization design to be an asset to our community and Town Council. I believe that forward-looking ideas will make Roxbury the great place to live it has the potential to be.
